The game is played in rounds and these "Pass" and "Don't Pass" bets are betting on the outcome of a round. However, the odds bet cannot be made independently, so the house retains an edge on the pass line bet itself. The best bets like the Pass Line and Free Odds bets might not be resolvedimmediately — it could take a few rolls or more. If one or both dice hits a player or dealer and rolls back onto the table, the roll counts as long as the person being hit did not interfere with either of the dice, though some casinos will rule "no roll" for this situation.
How the Craps table layout steers you towards bad bets
Craps is a dice game in which the players make wagers on the outcome of the roll, or a series of rolls, of a pair of dice. Players may wager money against each other playing "street craps" or a bank playing " casino craps", also known as "table craps", or often just "craps".
Because it requires little equipment, "street craps" can be played in informal settings. Craps developed in the United States from a simplification of the western European game of Hazard. The origins of Hazard are obscure and may date to the Crusades. Hazard was brought from London to New Orleans about by the returning Bernard Xavier Philippe de Marigny de Mandeville , the young gambler and scion of a family of wealthy colonial Louisiana landowners. Both Hazard and its new offshoot were unfamiliar and rejected by Americans of his social class, leading de Marigny to introduce his novelty to the local underclass.
Fieldhands taught their friends, and deckhands carried the new game up the Mississippi River. Celebrating the popular success of his novelty, de Marigny gave the name Craps to a street in his New Orleans real estate development. The central game, called Pass from the French word for pace or step, has been gradually supplemented over the decades by many companion games which can be played simultaneously. The entire collection of over one hundred separate and independent possible games is called Craps.
The name Craps was a Louisiana mispronunciation of the word "crabs", which in London had been the joint epithet for the numbers two and three, which in Hazard are the only permanent instant losing numbers for wagers on Pass. For a century after its invention, Craps was abused by casinos using unfair dice. To remedy the problem, about a Philadelphia dice maker named John H. Winn introduced a layout which featured bets on both Pass and Don't Pass.

Do most of the people in AC play the slots? That's how it was on Valentines day weekend. Because of that I don't play craps there. There are mostly kids and less players that know how to roll. One thing to remember, or know, about the Borgata craps tables are bigger than the other casinos in AC.
They also are much more bouncy at borgata, or thats what I have noticed.. Dice just fly off the table at borgata. At Harrahs they seem dead as soon as they hit the felt. The tables are long and very bouncy. However this kid had a roll of at least 5 passes and 40 numbers. Caesars and Ballys tables are ok, with Caesars being a little more lively. Good luck to those playing Trump. I was at the Borgata in February. It was a Wednesday night at around 9: The table maybe was half full.

Craps is a game where everybody, except the house, can win together. Craps can seem a little confusing at first, but it's fun and simple once you get the hang of the basic rules.
To play Craps, start by placing a bet on the pass line before the shooter rolls the dice—if the shooter rolls a 7 or 11, you win twice your bet. If the shooter rolls a different number, that number becomes the shooter's "point. When you walk up to any table, you'll want to know just who you're dealing with. Because craps involves the most money out of any standard casino game, you can expect to be working with a fair amount of employees.
Walk into virtually any casino today and you'll find a craps table with a double layout. At one side of the table probably closest to the pit in the center is the "boxman," -- he supervises the game and handles and stashes all the cash way more than what's circulating in all of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Opposite him is the "stickman" not the stick-figure man -- he's the one operating the stick, believe it or not, using it to push the dice around. He controls the tempo of the game, calling out the results, working with the dice, and urging players to be decisive. Near the stickman will be two dealers who manage all the bets, pay the winners, and collect the losers' money.
Surrounding them will be the players -- your new friends. Familiarize yourself with the table. Casinos aren't meant for customers to be scared away by feeling intimidated -- the craps table is simple once you've studied it for a minute.
